Who runs this site

pushpjeet.com is the personal website of Pushpjeet Cholkar (Pushpjeet IT Consultant), a cloud and AI/ML consultant and corporate trainer. I am responsible for the personal data described on this page.

This policy covers the website pushpjeet.com, the email newsletter you can join from it, and messages you send me.

The newsletter: what I collect and why

When you subscribe with a form on this site (for example on the newsletter page or below a tutorial), I collect:

• Your email address (required), to send you the emails you asked for.
• Your first name (optional), only to personalise the greeting.
• Your topic choices: AWS & Cloud, AI/ML tutorials, Oracle & SQL, and Blog posts & news. These decide which updates you receive.

I use this information only to run the newsletter: the confirmation email, a welcome email (which can include free material such as a study-plan download link), and occasional updates about training batches, new tutorials, labs, cheat sheets and blog posts. The frequency is not fixed.

Double opt-in

Subscribing is double opt-in. After you submit the form you get a confirmation email with a link that is valid for 48 hours. You are added to the mailing list only after you click that link. If you don’t confirm, you are not added and you won’t get newsletters.

How the emails are sent and where the data is stored

Emails are sent with Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) from news@pushpjeet.com; replies go to pc@pushpjeet.com. The signup form sends your details to a small sign-up service I run on Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the subscriber list (email, optional first name and topic preferences) is kept in an Amazon SES contact list. These AWS services run in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region.

The sign-up service keeps technical logs for troubleshooting. Those logs record only masked email addresses (for example ab***@example.com) and are kept for 90 days.

If an address bounces or a recipient marks an email as spam, Amazon SES suppresses that address so it is not emailed again.

Unsubscribing

You can unsubscribe at any time. Every newsletter and welcome email has an unsubscribe link (managed by Amazon SES) that lets you leave a single topic or stop all emails. You can also email pc@pushpjeet.com and I will remove you.

After you unsubscribe, your address stays on the list marked as unsubscribed so that you are not emailed again. If you want your record deleted completely, just ask.

When you contact me

If you email me, message me on WhatsApp or LinkedIn, or ask about training or consulting, I use the details you send (such as your name, email address or phone number and your message) only to reply and to handle your request. WhatsApp and LinkedIn process those messages under their own privacy policies.

Visiting the website

Server logs

Like most websites, the server that hosts pushpjeet.com may record standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies

pushpjeet.com does not use advertising cookies, and it does not currently run analytics or advertising trackers. Some pages show a cookie-consent banner; it stores your choice in a cookie so it doesn’t ask again. WordPress itself sets cookies only when you log in or leave a comment. If this changes, I will update this page first.

Content loaded from other services

To display the site, some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, some tutorials load maths and code-highlighting libraries from the jsDelivr CDN, and a few tutorials embed videos hosted on Google Drive. When your browser loads these, the provider receives your IP address as part of the normal web request, under its own privacy policy.

Links to other sites

Tutorials and pages link to other websites (for example AWS documentation). I am not responsible for their privacy practices.

Sharing and selling

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and I don’t share it for advertising.

Your data is processed only by the service providers needed to run the site and newsletter (Amazon Web Services for the sign-up service and email, and the website hosting provider), or where disclosure is required by law.

How long data is kept

• Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your data (see above).
• Unconfirmed sign-ups: you are not added to the list, and the confirmation link expires after 48 hours.
• Sign-up service logs: 90 days, with masked email addresses.
• Messages you send me: as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me to show you the personal data I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Email pc@pushpjeet.com and I will respond as soon as I can. Depending on where you live, data-protection law may give you further rights.

Children

This site and the newsletter are meant for working professionals and students, not for children. I don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has subscribed, email me and I will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

If how I handle personal data changes, I will update this page and the “Last updated” date at the top.
